Supplementary Scores provide an additional way of submitting Qualifying Scores for handicapping puposes - remember that you must submit at least 3 each Calendar year to maintain a Competition Handicap which is required to able to enter club qualifying competitions, club knock-outs, open competitions and to be able to represent Mapperley Golf club in team matches.
Supplementary scores may be recorded over 18 holes or 9 holes (front 9 only) and you may be play from the white, yellow or red tees – please indicate the tees used on your card.
You must register your intent to submit a Supplementary Score before playing:-
- On a Wednesday morning, pick up a 9 hole score card from 'the desk'. After the round please input your scores via the screen outside the office (see instructions how to do this) and post your card in the seniors score card box.
- At other times, register in the Pro Shop where someone will sign your card. After the round please input your scores via the screen outside the office and post your card in the letter-box outside the office.
Supplementary Scores may be submitted as Stableford or Stroke play (medal). However, for handicapping purposes all scores are converted to stableford points, so there is little point in scoring as a medal and you may pick up to save time if you cannot score a stableford point on a hole. You don't actually need to record the stableford points on the card, although you will probably wish to do so to get an idea of how you are doing - you need to record the gross score on each hole and the points will be worked out by the computer when you input your scores.
