We have a very friendly and active Ladies Section at Mapperley Golf Club and we run a wide selection of club competitions, knockout competitions and team matches against other local clubs, not to mention lots of Social Events too. If you wish to join us and learn to play golf, Mapperley Golf Club is the place to start.
We have a special New Ladies page containing all sorts of information for new and prospective lady members, including details of our monthly meetups where you can have a go at playing golf and meet some of our members in an informal setting.
We look forward to you contacting our Ladies Secretary, Susan Bunting, via email at email@example.com.
We offer weekly 'Qualifying' Competitions from April until October with reserved tee times on all Tuesdays and 'Alternate Day' competitions most weekends.
There are regular 9 hole competitions for the benefit of ladies who like competitive golf but prefer not to play a full 18 holes. During the winter the emphasis is more on fun competitions. A Winter Eclectic runs from October to March.
As well as several ladies Open competitions at Mapperley, the highlights of the season are the Spring Meeting, Autumn Meeting and Lady Captain's Day which all include an evening meal and prize presentation. We usually have a Ladies outing by coach to another club at least once a year. There are Mixed pairs and team competitions held on a Sunday about once a month throughout the year.
We have 'open to all' competitions for men and ladies throughout the summer on Thursdays most weeks and on Sundays about twice a month. In the winter there are Saturday team competitions.
So whether you prefer playing at weekends or during the week there is plenty to choose from.
There are Ladies Singles, Ladies Foursomes and Mixed Foursomes knockout competitions through the summer culminating on Finals Day in September. See Terms of Competition: Appendix E for further details.
We enter teams in the NCLGA Silver & Bronze Leagues, the Ladies & Mixed Interclub knock-outs and the Ladies Winter League. We also play a few friendly matches.
