Golf at Mapperley: Current Guidelines
The following guidelines apply at Mapperley in line with England Golf’s Play Safe, Stay Safe framework:
All golf must be pre-booked. However, you may ‘roll-up’ on the day and be added to a vacant tee time by the pro shop.
PRO SHOP: FACE MASKS REQUIRED
As of Tuesday 30th November 2021 face masks are mandatory in all shops in England. This includes the Pro shop, so please wear a mask in the pro shop as requested (unless excempt on medical grounds). We thank you for your cooperation.
Refer to Terms of Competition section 2.2.
SUBMITTING COMPETITION SCORES
Refer to Terms of Competition: section 5.
Please note that in multi-tee stableford competitions during the Winter, no adjustment of mens Playing Handicaps is required. This is because the Par is 2 greater than the Course Rating, hence 38 points represents playing to handicap from both mens yellow and ladies red tees.
Adjustments to ladies Playing Handicaps in multi-tee Medal competitions, including Texas Scrambles, are still applicable because these are based on the difference in Course Ratings of the two sets of tees.
SUBMITTING GENERAL PLAY SCORES
The submission of scores for handicap purposes at Mapperley is not available when Winter Rules are in place. The option to submit General Play Scores at Mapperley through the England Golf app will remain switched off until 1st April 2022.
Please continue to act responsibly to help keep yourself, your family, other members and the golf club staff as safe as practical.

Women on Par event: 12th September at 3pm
What is a Women on Par event?
It is a tried and tested 9 hole event. It features a novel scoring system, using a challenge scorecard, to help beginners learn the basic rules and etiquette of the game. Instead of counting shots, the scorecard outlines challenges for players to undertake, for example hitting the green or getting out of the bunker in one.
There are two levels of challenge scorecard, so events can cater for beginners and those who have played a little.
Women on Par helps new golfers develop as players. It’s also great fun and a good way to get newcomers involved with the club and its social life.
Wear something comfortable and trainers. Don’t worry if you don’t have any equipment as this can be provided on request.
