A Game #FOREeveryone

Ladies Taster Session: Sunday 8th October

About once a month on a Sunday through the summer months we hold a get-together for new and prospective new lady members.

Typically these start off in the clubhouse where you will get the opportunity to meet some of our lady members and view the facilities available in the clubhouse; the bar, restaurant, locker room, Professional's shop, etc.

After that we will venture outside where you can either join in a friendly 9 hole team competition on the golf course, or if you have not played golf before you can have a go at hitting some balls on our practice range, try some chipping on the practice green and finish up with a session on the putting green.

After that everyone will return to the clubhouse where you will have an opportunity to find out more about membership of the golf club.

The next Meetup is on Sunday 8th October - meet in the clubhouse at 2:00pm.

If you would like to attend or have any questions, please email Maggie -

Ready Golf tips

For everyone's benefit and enjoyment, members and Visitors are encouraged to play Ready Golf

And here are more tips on how to speed up play - most of which are just applying common sense!

  • Your immediate priority is to find your own ball. If someone else has lost theirs, find and play your ball first, if safe to do so, before assisting in the search.

  • You are allowed 3 minutes to find your ball. It is suggested that your marker is responsible for timing the search

  • If you think your ball may be lost, play a Provisional – or (when Winter Rules are in place) make use of the “Alternate to Stroke and Distance” Local rule as described in Committee Procedure 8E-5 and the attached graphics

  • When Preferred Lies are in operation, go straight to your ball, if safe to do so, and do your lifting and cleaning while the others are playing

  • Pick up your ball as soon as it is apparent that you won’t be able to score on the hole or contribute to your team’s score

  • At the green leave you golf bag/trolley on the side of the green towards the next tee.

  • If you are first to play on the tee, do so before filling in your scorecard

  • In casual play, consider playing quicker formats

  • Always be aware of your position in the field and invite quicker groups to play through
