Senior Captain's Charity 2018: Forever Stars
In April 2016, Forever Stars successfully raised £115,000.00 to build and equip the Serenity Suite, a bereavement suite for parents of stillborn babies and neonatal baby loss at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham. Although this was originally where the project was going to end, a number of parents contacted the charity to ask for help to raise money for a similar facility for the City Hospital in Nottingham. Costing in excess of £80,000, this facility opened in December 2017.
The reason I'm supporting this charity is because I had a grandson stillborn earlier in 2017.
My son and daughter-in-law were able to use the Serenity Suite at QMC and really appreciated the facilities.
Having just opened the new suite at Nottingham City Hospital, as indicated in their website Forever Stars will continue fundraising to benefit bereaved parents and families throughout the East Midlands.
I will keep you up to date on my fundraising during the year.
