and images of proposed ditch positions:

Hole 1

  • Level up and replace winter mat.
  • Apply weed killer to red tac path and repair as required.
  • Install Acco type drainage above practice netting to stop flooding around area.
  • Reduce size of bunker.
  • Repair area between green and second tee, look at red tac or bitumen replacement.

Hole 2

  • Look at possibly re-positioning winter tee.

Hole 3

  • Look at re-positioning winter tee.
  • Remove old temporary tee (back of 9th green)
  • Clear existing open ditch (left hand side), block off drainage pipes from bungalows (sewage and top water).
  • Dig open ditch from start of hedge (right hand side), which will run length of fairway and feed into soakaway.
  • Install new drainage (French drain type) across fairway leading into open ditch.
  • Replace existing drainage pipe that runs across fairway from new housing development.
  • Install soakaway in wooded area (adjacent bell).

Hole 4

  • Look at possibly re-positioning winter tee.
  • Reduce size of bunkers.
  • Introduce drainage to right of green.

Hole 5

  • Install Acco type drainage along side length of tarmac road from green keeper’s barn towards gate.
  • Acco drainage to meet up with new open ditch alongside hedge (left hand side), ditch to run length of fairway and past green keeping as close to hedge as possible.
  • Reduce size of bunker on right hand side of fairway.

Hole 6

  • Remove concrete path and replace with red tac or bitumen rubber.
  • Look at re-positioning winter matt.

Hole 7

  • Open ditch in front of hedge (left side), to run from back of 6th green to block paving path adjacent green.
  • Open ditch in scrub land above green to merge with open ditch on 3rd and meet up with ditch in front of hedge.

Hole 8

  • Install drainage in fairway above green or have open ditch and install small bridge/path.
  • Fill in bunker.
  • Install three pot bunkers (Jon Newham to position)
  • Leave grass on fairway to grow longer, possibly have to add different grass seed.

Hole 9

  • Re-site winter tee.
  • Install drainage on fairway and in front of green.

The aforementioned are ideas and proposals which will be presented to the Board of Directors for approval. Many can only be achieved over a period of time, and all have financial implications.

The back 9 holes will be assessed when all parties are available.
