Club Championship

Formerly known as the Scratch Cup. Awarded to the lowest aggregate gross score over two 18 hole rounds on the same day using handicaps as at the 1st round, calculated using the Aggregate Print report in Club V1.

In the event of a tie, the winner is determined by the lowest gross score in the 2nd round, then on count-back over the back 9, back 6, back 3, etc. of the 2nd round.

Prizes are also awarded for

  • Best morning and afternoon gross scores
  • Best morning and afternoon net scores
  • Best aggregate net scores using handicaps as at the 1st round

Players may win more than 1 prize.

Edwards Trophy

Played over two 18 hole medal rounds on Saturday and Sunday of the same weekend. The Trophy is awarded to the lowest aggregate net score over the 2 rounds, calculated using the Aggregate Print report in Club V1.

Each day is a standalone competition with players using their handicap on the day. There are separate entry fees and divisional prizes for each day.

To determine the Trophy winner and any other aggregate prizes, handicaps as at the 1st round are used. In the event of a tie, the winner is determined by the lowest net score in the 2nd round, then on count-back over the back 9, back 6 and back 3 holes of the 2nd round.

Jon Newham Trophy

Aggregate pairs stableford, own partner. Handicap allowance 95 percent. Partners play together, therefore scores are not acceptable for handicap purposes.

Medal Final

All divisional winners of Saturday, Sunday & Midweek Monthly Medal competitions since the previous year’s Medal Final qualify for the Medal Final, which is usually played on the same day as a regular Saturday Monthly Medal. One entry fee covers both the Monthly Medal and the Medal Final.

6 day members that qualify for the Medal Final may play on the Saturday and will not be charged for a green fee or a competition entry fee. They cannot however take part in the Monthly Medal competition.

Three overall prizes are awarded for the Medal Final irrespective of Division and are in addition to any prizes won in the Monthly Medal.

Millennium Trophy

Awarded to the lowest aggregate of the 3 best net scores from 5 designated medal competitions, calculated using the Aggregate Print report in Club V1.

In the event of a tie, the winner is determined by the lowest of the 3 counting rounds, then the back 9, back 6, back 3, etc. of the lowest counting round.
