3.2. Competitions played over several days

When a single round competition extends over two or more days the following terms apply:

  • Players may only enter the competition once.

  • Rounds played in a separate singles or team competition on one of the competition days will not count for the extended competition.

  • Players who elect to play on the 2nd (or 3rd) day are permitted to play on the course in casual golf or in a different competition on the 1st (or 2nd) day without breaching the Rules of Golf, Rule 5.2 (Practicing on Course Before or Between Rounds).

  • If play on the 1st (or 2nd) day is suspended by the Committee due to adverse weather conditions, a player that has not completed their round is entitled to complete their round on the 2nd (or 3rd) competition day, as long as they do not play on the course between the two parts of the round.

  • The tee and flag positions on each day of the competition should not vary to such an extent as would significantly alter the overall length or playability of the course.

  • Separate Playing Conditions Calculations (PCC) adjustments are made on each day of the competition and handicap updates are calculated shortly after midnight of the day of play.

Ladies Extended Competitions

  • The Ladies Main competition day is Tuesday

  • In the Summer, April to October, play is usually available on the preceding Saturday and Sunday.

  • In the Winter, November to March, play is usually available on the preceding Sunday.

  • All 7 Day members may play on Saturday, Sunday or Tuesday. All 6 day members may play on Sunday or Tuesday.

  • Ladies who play on Saturday or Sunday are eligible to win the trophy in the Major competitions defined in Appendix C, with the exception of the Centenary Plate (at the wishes of the benefactor).

  • Regardless of whether play on the Main Day (Tuesday) goes ahead, ‘Acceptable Scores’ returned on Saturday or Sunday count for handicap purposes.  These scores may not be cancelled.

  • If the Main Day is re-arranged, scores from the original Saturday or Sunday count for the competition and the player is eligible to win a prize.

  • Saturday and/or Sunday play for a re-scheduled Main Day may be arranged. Anyone that played on the original Saturday or Sunday may not play in the competition on the re-scheduled days.

  • If the Main Day is not re-arranged, the Saturday and Sunday scores count for that competition and the player is eligible to win a prize, unless she is the only entrant in which case a refund of the entry money will be given.

Exception: The Ladies Major competitions defined in Appendix C require a minimum of 6 entries for the trophy to be awarded. If the main day is not re-arranged and there were less than 6 entries on the Saturday and Sunday, the trophy will not be awarded.
