You may have noticed that the club has installed CCTV over the last few months, the external system was installed to improve the clubhouse security.
You may also be aware that the club have applied for a premise licence to enable the legal sale of alcohol and permit certain entertainment (recorded and live music and dancing) to the public rather than exclusively to members and guests as permitted by the Club Premises Certificate. The police as a pre-condition to the granting of the licence requested that we install CCTV in the clubhouse and the ability to record and retain the images for a 31day period. They also requested some additional operational requirements and training that Steve and his staff will implement.
I appreciate that some people consider CCTV an intrusion and for this please accept our apologies, I also give an assurance that the CCTV will not affect your enjoyment of the clubhouse in any way…….. providing of course you behave.
The golf club is not exceptional in applying for this additional licence both Henry Mellish and The Mapperley Social Club now operate in a similar way.
I would also like to assure members that we will not change the way the clubhouse is used, it is our aim to provide high standards of service to Members their guests and visitors, with the added capability of being able to use the facilities for selective private parties and functions to enhance our income.
The Board has recognised that if the new licence is granted then we will need to amend the club rules as they limit who can be served as a requirement of the Club Licence.
